Called the Big Hurt because of his ability to crush the baseball, the 6 ft 5 inch 275 pound Frank Thomas was a two time AL MVP and the all time White Sox leader with 447 doubles, 448 homers, with 1,466 walks, with 3,949 total bases, with 1,327 runs and with 1,465 RBI. A career .300 hitter he was the leader or among the leaders in extra base hits and homers as well as Runs, RBI and Walks during most of his 16-year tenure with the Chicago White Sox. Defensively played first base and then mostly DH. In 1997 Frank Thomas hit a robust .353 in interleague action although he failed to hit a homer.
