First baseman Lyle Overbay was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in a nine player trade on December 1 2003, and signed as a free agent with Toronto prior to the 2006 season. A left-handed batter, he takes pitches deep into the count and can line the ball down the opposite line. He was chosen as an All-Star in his first season with the Blue Jays. That season, 2006, he hit .312, 46 Ds, 22 Hr, and had 92 RBI. Defensively Lyle Overbay has good hands and can quickly swift when near the first base bag and pickup throws out of the dirt. baseballhistorian.com |
