Winning pitcher Rolando Arrojo (5-10) allowed the Tigers 3 runs in 5 1/3 innings, long reliever Albie Lopez pitched the middle 2 2/3 innings, allowed only 2 hits, struck out 3, walked none and closer Roberto Hernandez shut down the Tigers in the 9th to collect his' 39th save of the year. In the 5th inning, with the score tied 2-2, Canseco blasted his' 32nd home run of the year off starting pitcher C.J. Nitkowski -(2-5). Karim Garcia, the Tigers' right-fielder, doubled and hit his' 10th homer for the year in four at bats. Tampa Bay is now 62-78 and the Tigers, 57-82. Time of Game 2:45, Attendance 15,056. |
