STREATOR — Sophomore pitcher Kali Riddell pitched a strong game against the Streator high school softball squad in a Class 3A Streator Sectional semi-final and the outcome was a 2-1 win for UHigh on June 2, 2010. Teammates Mia Hartung scored on a sarifice fly by Kelsey Wilson in the 7th inning to break a 1-1 tie. The speedy Mia Hartung legged it from third and narrowly beat the tag of Samantha Riss of Streator High. UHigh's Magge Bee and Kali Riddell each lined two hits. Kali Riddell caught a pop-up for the third out in the last inning. She regristered a sterling, complete game 6-hitter. UHigh will play the winner of girls softball between Metamora and Peoria Richwoods this coming Saturday in the Championship Game. Streator (28-8 w/l) was paced on offensive and defense by Allie Riordan, an Illinois Wesleyan signee, and a strong effort by pitcher Murphi Armstrong.
