Rated as one of the best fielding women professional shortstops of all-time, Dottie Schroeder was the only woman who played every season of the AAGPBL, 1943-1954. She holds the record for most career games with 1,249, most at bats with 4,129, and with 431 RBI.

 

Dorothy Schroeder started her career in the women’s dead ball era – 1943 thru mid 1949, and also played in the ‘lively ball era’ – 1949-1954. In the AAGBL last season, 1954, before it folded due top lack of financial backing, Dottie Schroeder batted a career-high .304, lined 17 homers and had 65 RBI.

 

Dottie Schroeder career South Bend Blue Sox 1943-45, Kenosha Comets mid-1945-47, Fort Wayne Daises mid-1947-1952. Kalamazoo 1953-1954. Also played with Bill Allington and his traveling team of 11 All Americans during the summers of 1955-58.
