A star center-fielder for most of her 10-year career in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, Dottie Key played second and third base in her rookie year with the Rockford Peaches - 1945. A fast runner and a sure-handed defensive flyhawk she was soon switched to the center field position in '46.

Born in Winnipeg, Canada on 2/17/1923, she first played under her maiden name of Dorothy Ferguson. However, she's best remember as Dottie Key, after marrying in 1949.

Key's all-around play helped the Peaches win the AAGPBL Playoff Championships three consecutive seasons - 1948-1950.

A right-handed line drive hitter, Key reached career-highs in batting with .243 in 1952 and .253 in 1954.
