Women's Baseball History * Betsy Jochum of the South Bend Blue Sox hit .273 with 12 doubles, 7 triples, one homer in her rookie year in 1943. The next season, she won the league's batting title with .296 in 112 games. * Betty Foss of the Fort Wayne Daisies led the AAGPBL two straight seasons in batting - as a rookie in 1950, she hit a sterling .346... and, lined 24 doubles, 5 homers, 61 RBIs. She led the league in batting again in '51 with a torrid .368, with 34 doubles, 4 homers, scored 77 runs, had 58 RBIs stole 60 bases in 94 games.
