A native of Rockford Illinois, Jean Cione was one of the top left handed throwing pitchers in women’s baseball history. She won 19 games in her first season with the Rockford Peaches of the AAGPBL – going 19-14 with a miserly 1.30 ERA in 37 games. I

n 1950 with Kenosha Jean Cione pitched two no-hit, no-run games pitched, rang up an 18-19 w/l record, a 2.96 earned run average. 

Nicknamed Cy

Jean Cione worked an even 1200 innings in a career spanning eight years, and had a 76-65 record with a 2.33 ERA.
