It was a blissful setting for a baseball team on the diamond in Racine Wisconsin and nothing that happened off the field could prevent the Belles players from feeling ecstatic as they helped start womens professional baseball league during the onset of World War II Racine Belles 1943 Manager: Johnny Gottselig, Chaperone: Marie Anderson.
