A tall, broad-shouldered, powerful looking man, Bill Wright batted over .300 most seasons and was a solid defensive outfielder. He played 14 seasons in the Negro Baseball Leagues, all with the Elite Giants as they moved from city-to-city. First in Nashville, then Columbus, Washington and in Baltimore. Often called ‘a smart hitter’ he was rated one of the top Negro League outfielders of all-time.
