The 5 ft 8 inch, 155 pound Ernie Padgett was an extremely quick fielding infielder and base runner during his five major league seasons, first with the old Boston Braves, 1923-1925, and then with the Cleveland Indians 1926-27. In 1923 he played 113 games at third base and 29 games at second and hit .255, lined 25 doubles, 9 triples and one homer, 42 runs, 46 RBI.
