A standout defensive infielder, the 5-ft 8 inch, 165 pound Augie Ojeda is an always hustling ballplayer. A fans favorite with the Cubs during the early 2000s, he's at his finest defensively when he quickly slide-steps and pickups a grounder while firing a strike to the first baseman or to second base on a double play. In 2007 Augie Ojeda played a solid role in the Arizona Diamondbacks winning the NL West, and batted .444, with 4 hits in 9 at bats in the Diamondbacks 3-game sweep over the Cubs in the Opening Round of the NL Playoffs. |
