Billy Lush, a switch-hitting outfielder, broke into the majors with Washington of the National Association, 1895-97. A fast runner he stole 28 bases in 97 games in his second season, while batting .247, with 11 triples. He played two seasons with the Boston Braves in the same league, then signed in 1903 with the Detroit Tigers. Traded to Cleveland Bill Lush played one season there, hitting .258 in 138 games, scored 76 runs in 1904, then retired. Baseball History |
