Baseball Historian Biography

Derek Lowe made a name for himself by throwing one of the best sinker-balls in baseball history. When he on, batters hit the ball on the ground. Derek Lowe started his career as a reliever and pitching for the Red Sox in 2000 he led the league with 42 saves. In 2002 he won 21 games as a starter.

In 2005 he led the NL with 35 starts after signing a multi-million $ contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers as a free agent. In 2006 Derek Lowe led the league with 16 wins.

One of baseball's most savoy mound stalwarts he knows if his trademark sinker isn't working and can quickly adjust trajectory and put a good spin on the inside-or-outside of home plate.
