A knuckleball pitcher, Mickey Haefner posted solid seasons during and right after World War II. He went 11-5 with a stingy 2.29 earned run average as a rookie with the Washington Senators in 1943. Standing 5 ft 8 inches and weighing in at 160 pounds, the left-handed Mickey Haefner collected at least 10 wins his first 5 seasons, including a 16-14 record in 1943.
