Al Demaree's stunning 13-4 record, a .765 pct, with a 2.21 earned run average in his rookie season helped the New York Giants win 105 games and the NL pennant in 1913. Traded to the Phillies in 1915, he collected 14 wins to help Philadelphia win that year's NL pennant. In 1916, Demaree rang up a solid 19-14 mark with a 2.62 ERA, including hurling two complete game wins in a doubleheader, before being traded to the Cubs.
