Outfielder Gino Cimoli quickly became a fans favorite in Brooklyn in his first full year there, 1957. That year he batted .280, lined 37 extra base hits and scored 88 runs. Gino Cimoli moved with the Dodgers to LA the next year, 1958. Since he was born in San Francisco he was well-suited for the moved west. When he slumped to just .246 in 1958 he was traded to the Cardinals for Wally Moon in DEcember of 1958. Gino Cimoli, although often traded thereafter, played six more major league seasons. His two seasons in Kansas City were his most productive in his closing years, he played 152 games in 1962 and 145 in 1963. |
