Roger Maris - Cleveland Indians

Opening Day, 1957. Roger Maris, playing for the Cleveland Indians in his first major league game, smashed 3 singles driving in one run.

The Chicago White Sox, led by pitcher Billy Pierce beat Cleveland in 11 innings.

In the 3rd. game of the season, Maris hit his first major league homer. In his rookie year, Roger played 116 games .... hit 14 home runs.... 51 R.B.I.'s.

In 1961, playing for the New York Yankees, Maris hit 61 home runs breaking Babe Ruth's record for one season. Career homer total ..... 275.... playing in 1463 games...... batted 5101 times. We honor your baseball record.
