The Rangers are counting on Gabe Kapler, the 1999 Minor League Player Of the Year, rookie 3rd baseman Tom Evans and center-fielder Ruben Mateo to put up big numbers in 2000. Ivan Rodriguez, everyone's All-Star catcher, could capture his' second MVP award in a row.
