Early Wynn Early Wynn

Pitcher RH, Washington SEnators 19390-1948, Cleveland Indians 1949-1957, 1962, Chicago White Sox 1958-1961

One of the greatest right-handed pitchers of all-time, 'Big Burly' Early Wynn overpowered batters, collected five 20 win seasons and posted 300 career wins.

The 6-foot, 205-pounder strung together 18-8, 20-13, 23-12, 17-12, 23-11, 17-11 and 20-9 seasons for the Cleveland Indians from 1950-1957.

This great curve ball pitcher started his career for the weak hitting Washington Senators and if not for this fact he would have won many more career games.

Traded to the Chicago White Sox in 1958, Wynn led the league in strikeouts again and got the win in the All-Star game. In 1959, Early Wynn won 20 games, was the starting pitcher in the All-Star game and won the Cy Young Award. The Go Go White Sox won the pennant and Wynn pitched a 11-0 shutout against the L.A. Dodgers. He was the losing pitcher in games 4 and 6 as the Dodgers won the World Series, 4 games to 2.

He won his 300th game after being traded back to the Indians in 1962. Early Wynn led the league in games started and innings pitched 3 times and twice in strikeouts.
